Milton Glaser, Founder of I love NY t-shirts



Milton Glaser, who was born at 1929, was a native of New York that attended the High School of Music and Art. He also went to Cooper Union Art School to extend his art education. After graduation, he obtained a Fulbright Scholarship were he can study in Italy under Giorgio Morandi which he did. Milton Glaser founded the “I Love NY” t-shirt logo that so many adored later on in his career.

Glaser was the founder of Push Pin Studios in 1954 with a couple of his classmates. His style was very simple, original and direct to the point that the moment you saw it you knew what it was. He used his work for other people’s marketing campaign such as advertisements, packaging, mailing and etc.

In 1968, he helped co-edited the “New York Magazine. Later on he established his own graphic design studio in Manhattan called Milton Glaser, Inc. He helped redesign many magazines and started gaining lots of new commission and recognition. Milton Glaser in 1973 helped created the logo “I love NY” to help promote NY tourism. It became one of the most copied ideas in the world.

Milton kept with his passion and keep doing what he loved, using art to help capture the eyes of viewers. His work has been honored by museum worldwide and was famous everywhere. His I love NY t-shirts is his greatest work yet. He is the founder and father of the “I love NY” logo that everyone is so fond of.
